DWC Is Moving From Seattle to Boise

We outgrew our Seattle warehouse. So we're building you a bigger one.

On November 1, 2026, our Seattle distribution center ships its last order. In March 2027, a new DWC distribution center opens near Boise, in Nampa, Idaho, right off I-84. Seattle was 8,473 square feet. The new building is more than 105,000, laid out for wire and cable from the slab up and stocked off a year of asking Northwest distributors one question: what can't you get locally?

That's roughly twelve times the floor and six times the inventory. It also widens what we reach. Boise serves every market Seattle served, and adds Salt Lake City, Nevada, and Northern California from the same building. For a region where almost nobody holds local stock, that changes who can say "we have it" first.

Between now and March, nothing changes about how you order. Same account manager, same pricing, same terms, same fastQuote. Your orders ship from the wider DWC network instead of Seattle.

The move

Are you closing or moving?

We're moving as part of a significant investment into the regional growth of the Northwestern region. Our Northwest distribution center is relocating from Seattle to a far larger building near Boise. Seattle's last day is November 1, 2026, and Boise opens in March 2027.

Where are you moving to?

Nampa, Idaho, just outside Boise and right off I-84. 105,406 square feet, built out specifically for wire and cable.

When are you opening?

March 2027.

Are you exiting the Northwest?

No. Our coverage grows with this move. Boise serves every market Seattle served and adds Salt Lake City, Nevada, and Northern California from the same building, with 105,406 square feet and a full opening inventory behind it.

Ordering between November and March

We're in Seattle. Can we still buy from DWC after 11/1?

Yes, the same way you do today. Your account, pricing, terms, account manager, and quote turnaround all stay exactly where they are.

How will I get my products?

Exactly as you do now. Same people, same fastQuote, same process. Between November and March your order ships from elsewhere in the DWC network.

What happens to my lead time between November and March?

For most customers, nothing at all. Some accounts will see one additional day. If you have questions about your accounts, reach out to your account manager.

Will I experience an interruption in service?

No. The day Seattle stops shipping is the day the rest of the network is already covering your account. There's no window where you can't buy from us.

Will I have the same sales rep?

Yes. Your account manager remains the same.

Are you liquidating any inventory before the move?

We're putting together a bulk buy list on select Seattle stock ahead of November 1. Tell your account manager if you'd like first look at it.

Who do I call in the meantime?

Your account manager, same as always, or Autumn Busick for the Northwest. Nothing about how you reach us changes on November 1.

The new building

What are you going to stock in Boise?

You'll receive our Materials List before the grand opening. We're planning to carry significantly more inventory in Boise than you see in Seattle today, and the mix is built around what Northwest distributors told us they wait on, including lines Seattle never carried: aluminum URD, service entrance, SOOW, and XLPTC. Keep an eye on your email, and your DWC representative will be in touch.

What are your hours?

8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Can we will call?

Yes. The new distribution center has easy access for pickup, and you'll be told whether your order is available same day.

Can our customers will call?

Yes, as long as it's documented on the paperwork.

Do you have a delivery truck?

Not at this time. Your orders move through our carrier network.

Can you store large customer wire and cable at your DC and make cuts as needed?

Get in touch with your local representative. It's a conversation we're glad to have, and the answer depends on the material and the volume.

What this move does for you if you're not in Boise

Plenty, if you buy anything with a lead time.

This brings a significant amount of material closer to you, including core products that carry extended lead times at other suppliers. We don't charge minimums or cut charges on any of our nationally stocked products, and more of those products land within one-day shipping of you once Boise opens. Your FFA (Full Freight Allowed) cost comes down with the distance.

Between I-84 and the interstate network out of the Treasure Valley, a building in Nampa reaches a lot more of the West in a day than a building in Seattle ever did.

What to do now
