DWC Safety Team Announces Chairman

Dan Johnson headshotDan Johnson, DWC logistics specialist, has been named chairman of the 2016 DWC Safety Team. The team’s objective is to consistently deliver the safest workplace for the DWC Family.

Dan brings experience to his position as chairman.  He was a safety team member at his previous company for three years and president for two of those years. Dan and the team have a clear strategy of what they will accomplish in the coming year.

“We won’t just get together and talk, but turn things into action,” said Dan.

The team is committed to creating the safest work environment for the DWC Family. They will do this by providing safety and training programs as guidance within the company’s culture of zero harm. This year the team is also focused on more collaboration from all DWC family members, including those outside operations.

The team’s first meeting is set for early February. They’ll begin by implementing subcommittees for ergonomics, accident investigation and other areas of focus.

“There is no one specific reason to focus on safety, but rather there is every reason to focus on safety at work and at home,“ said Dan.Safety logo 1

Dan has support in his new role from the DWC leadership. Matt Kissane, logistics manager, understands the importance of focusing on safety as a first priority.

“It’s important to provide and ensure a safe environment. You’re talking about our family and their lives, in a warehouse where there is opportunity for significant risk,” said Matt.
