6th Annual Hack’s & Whack’s Golf Tournament

h&WHot summer days can only mean one thing. Golf season is finally here!

On Saturday, August 1st we hosted our 6th Annual Hack’s & Whack’s Golf Tournament. We returned to Saddle Rock Golf Course in Aurora, Colorado, for another shot at their beautiful greens.

The winning team, “Help! My Ball Can’t Swim,” took home the gold with a score of 64. The team consisted of; Terry Packer, Border States-Williston; Bill Griesinger, Rexel/Ryall Electric-Denver; Tyler Waggoner and Robert Saldi from DWC. Don’t worry, they didn’t lose any golf balls in the pond.

Not far behind them, with a score of 65, was “The Mulligans.” This team was made up of Coleton Shifflet, Josh Grages, Darrell Hill and Craig Gallogly from CED-Denver. Despite their team name, they never found themselves in need of a do over.

In third place, with a score of 67, was “Training for the Tour;” Tim Heberlein, Western United-Brighton; Keith Wallace, WESCO-Garden City; and Drew Piller from DWC. Keep an eye out for this threesome on the next ESPN highlight reel.

The gimmick hole winners were Brian Choo, Rexel-Greeley, on the straightest drive, Kendra Coleman, CED-Fort Collins, on closest to the pin, and Brad Stokes, Gexpro-Denver, on the longest drive.

After spending several hours in the 96 degree heat, it was time for some grub. Thanks to the crew at Saddle Rock, who arrived at 2 a.m. to start preparing the roast pig for lunch.

A hot, sunny day combined with a round of golf, friends and food makes for one good Saturday. Thank you to all of our sponsors and golfers who made this event great! We look forward to seeing you all back on the course next year.
