The crowd goes quiet as the golfer steps up to the tee. He is focused and ready. He swings and the ball sails onto the green with ease. This is the dream of every golfer, a perfect shot every time.
On Saturday, July 12th there were some perfect shots and some not-so-perfect shots at our 5th Annual Hack’s & Whack’s Golf Tournament. This year the tournament was held at Saddlerock Golf Course in Aurora, CO. A course that can be a bit tricky, but our distribution family conquered it with ease.
The winning team finished with a score of 64, eight under par. Guy Clutterbuck, Gexpro-Cashway North; Matt Kissane, DWC; Brad Orcutt and Scott Vandiver, Gexpro-Cashway South, took home the coveted Hack’s & Whack’s trophy along with bragging rights.
Having lost the tie breaker on the 13th hole, put team 11 into second place; Bill Griesinger and Scott Griggs, Rexel/Ryall Electric; Nate Lamb, DWC; and Craig Engelskind, Kalas Wire. These guys were one stroke away from victory.
In third place finishing with a score of 66 was team three; Coleton Shifflet, Josh Grages, and Brian Adamo, CED Denver; and Tony Shortio, CED Centennial.

These were not the only winners of the day. There were seven gimmick hole winners; straightest drive, Sean Miller; longest drive, Chad Rodriguez; longest putt, Kelli Decker; closest to pin, Brad Balensiefen, Jered Aguilar, Jonathan Keenan and Coleton Shifflet.
After a fun day of golf everyone headed up to the clubhouse to refuel. What better way to do that than with a pig roast? The pig was roasted all day in order to be the perfect post-tournament lunch.
A perfect sunny day combined with some good friends, golf and a pig roast makes for one great Saturday. Thank you to everyone who attended this year’s event. We look forward to seeing you all again next year!
